Renovations

I am back from teaching in Vancouver and what a lovely week. The Vancouver guild were lovely hosts and we all enjoyed some wonderful stitching and sharing times. Well renovations are on their way. I am making a bigger space for the office, it has been crowded and we were busting out of the room. Now that my daughters have both been in bedrooms in the basement for the past few years, I have fully taken over both bedrooms on the main floor and we will make one big 'real' office space. I am so looking forward to that. At the moment I am in the living room! The rooms are gutted and we will make shelving etc. so I should be more organized when we are done! For any of you that did not want to put your initials on every page of My Stitching Album --I am posting an alternative for that row on the 4 that have been released already and Crossed Caper which is coming soon..... my stitcher has stitched the initial row with motifs from the pattern just arranged to fill in where the initials were. The colour pictures will help you and you can choose to do this if you like.

I hear many of you were stuck on Mosaic but were delighted to go on to Milanese and Scotch which went much faster. For sure Mosaic was such a tiny stitch and took alot of stitching to cover but what great detail. Enjoy the stitches and enjoy the colour in Florentine and then Crossed Caper which will be coming up soon! They both are very dynamic in colour and it is fun to see the colour play out.

Vancouver

Just a couple of things to note quickly before I leave this afternoon for Vancouver - teaching for the guild this week. I see on the forecast it will be raining.... well here in Calgary it is sunny but cold and there is still snow on the ground, although it has all been melting...I hope you have received all your stuff with Florentine Fancy Chapter 4 of My Stitching Album, brilliant colours isn't it! Remember to use 2 strands! By stuff I mean the 'Errata' sheet for the first page of the finishing instructions and the Scotch Switch 'Notes' page. I had forgotten it in the last shipment. We are working on Crossed Caper it is at the printer and when I return next Monday from teaching in V. I hope to see a proof. All the thread packs are being made so we are 'on it' as the kids would say! For shops -retailers - we now have our catalog on line for ease of ordering. If you sign in then I can go in and approve you, then giving you access to the full catalog. I hope this works out, I needed to print catalogs again and so my webmaster and I decided that this might work out for us. Give it a try let us know how it goes. MSA Chapter 4 Florentine Fancy

We are working on getting the Chapter 4 shipment ready to go. It has been busy with working on the all the accounting from a very good Nashville needlework show and getting the patterns bagged etc.  The weather was lovely and getting to meet old and new friends again  it was a great weekend. We will be ready to ship starting on Monday Feb. 23. So look for Florentine Fancy to come soon.

The pocket item for this page is a leather scissors sheath with the JD initials on it. It is done in a warm brown and will match the Premax scissors from Norden or Wichelt. PX 1148 Flower scissors.  I have seen 2 MSA projects of note- done up to and including Scotch Switch (yes, they are keeping up!) - one done on black fabric with some colour changes and one done on 40ct Lt Examplar using the colour palette given -it is absolutely stunning. If you have not chosen fabric yet and are a 40ct person, you must do this!
