Going to Nashville

Oh what a great time we had on the JDD cruise. There were 6 of us travelling together  on the early morning flight out of Calgary and a waiting time of an hour through customs but once we were on the way to Ft. Lauderdale via Dallas it was great. It was cool arriving in Florida but once on the cruise we warmed up nicely and our visits in the ports of Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Bahamas were warm and breezey. The first eve we had a meet and greet for all the group with cocktails and then on the sea days we had class time and then every eve. we had a classroom where we could  meet for stitching. Judy Bradford was our 'cruise director' and took wonderful care of us. She made it easy and we enjoyed every minute. Stitchers came from all parts of North America and it was alot of fun getting to know fellow stitchers. Thank you to all of you for coming and really making it the success that it was. We look forward to maybe sometime in the future to look at doing this again but for now it will be a wonderful memory. On Thursday early am I get to do the early morning flight to Nashville via Dallas like last week all over again! My boxes are with The Silver Needle and she will kindly take them to Nashville for me. I will take the new projects and display items in the suitcase. I think I am ready to go. Wilma - who broke her arm while I was away on the JDD cruise - still did come in this morning and we went over last minute stuff and I think I have it all by George! Now just to make sure it fits in the suitcase! My husband Dale will come with me to be the helper 'extraordinaire' and it will be great to see new and old friends.

Please see previous post - Dec 2- for the list of new items or under designs - new- for the newest patterns being released for Nashville. If I don't answer email right away I am taking a few days after Nashville as a little get away time. We are looking to release Florentine Fancy -Chapter 4- for March - so the shipping days will be February 17-19/09.

Cruisin'

So it is packing time and getting our sea legs and getting out of the snow! I must admit it is snowing today and that cruise on Sat. is looking awfully good. I am so glad you all are coming and helping to make this a success. Just a quick note on the fabric size - I have cut pieces that are approx. 10 x10 - on 32ct. - but it is permin fabric so easier to see the holes! The design size is 4 1/16 x 4 1/16" - with fun caribbean colours.  You need only bring your scissors, q snap -stretcher bars or whatever you use and magnification if you do use that. There are needles in the kit and the beads and charm and of course the silk. We have surprises for you and I have the pattern in powerpoint for ease of teaching - high tech on the high seas! <grin>

Looking forward to you all coming - travel safe and see you soon!

Just one other thing of note - if you are working on My Stitching Treasures Accessories - I have had a note from a very competent gal on the finishing. Carolyn Standing Webb at the Craftcenter  www.craftcenterstitchery.com has done up a wonderful set of extended finishing instructions. You can contact them and inquire about it.

My Stitching Album Corrections...

jdd_msa0000mPlease note: Dec. 30/08. I have just noticed as I am working on the next chapter in our book - the instructions that is.... and I found that I forgot the Scotch Switch Notes page! So to that, I will get it printed and add it into the shipment in February of Florentine Fancy. My sincere apologies.

Also on the finishing instructions first page there are a few lines missing. I will also fix that up here in the next week or so.
