new year...

I will admit it has been over my 2 week limit, I like to post every 2 weeks... but this whole getting ready for Nashville thing... what can I say, it takes over your life and even though January is a long month, it has flown by for me. Needless to say though, we lots new coming and do look for it to come. A deadline is good they say.... I have ben busy stitching for the events this spring... Nashville was done by Christmas, it was just the instructions and picture taking etc. that needed to be done, now we are on to the next. My events for spring are coming up fast and although I did have some done, there does seem to be lots to do. Look for a wonderful piece for Stitchville USA -hint- piney, woodsy, you all wanted another Home in the Woods.....

Needleworker's Marketplace by Gitta's also some fun new projects to focus on and look for specials for the show.

Then a wonderful piece for Where Victoria'a Angels Stitch in NJ - something old world.... it's been fun to research and do. Lastly a lovely sampler for the stitchers in Rochester, NY at Golden Thread Needlearts! These projects are filling my time but oh so fun and enjoyable. It seems like each piece consumes me and I can't let it go.... but of course then the next project must be done so we move on.... and I have to think of the Just Cross Stitch ornament issue already! The invite is in plus the preview issue..... so it's 2 more ornaments.... and wasn't Christmas just over?

So you can see, it is always something. But for now we have the next owl, Friend Owl, a lovely little charmer for your friend. I think I missed putting in last months owl - Love Owl- I was so engrossed in my Nashville frenzy! Enjoy!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My one daughter is home,  finished exams and her portfolio show, the other came home from university yesterday. Now Christmas can come.  This going away to university has me missing her and it is just lovely to have our family together. Now on Friday and Saturday we will be joined by all the other Douglas' so it will be great. At this busy time I do want to thank you for all your patronage and I look forward sharing all the new and fun designs we have planned. Wishing you all a lovely holiday time, whether you are near and far and whether you are working or not. In my nursing years I spent many a Christmas at the hospital but we always made it fun. Hope that you can do that too where ever you are.

A look to 2011

It was such a terrific time in Alameda, CA across the bay from Oakland. I enjoyed it immensely. Wow, the stitchers were awesome and to see Cathe's lovely new digs at Needle In A Haystack - it was a treat. We enjoyed fabulous weather some great stitching and just plain old fun. Cathe and I even sang for the group, imagine, me a rather rusty choir veteran...... she did great doing " Oh Canada" ...it was pretty cool to sing my national anthem in Amercia. Thanks Cathe! Thank you stitchers for all your gifts and company, the weekend went just so fast. I also really enjoyed being to able spend some time with Anne Frazier of Gloriana Threads and talk about colour and threads, so fun. It was a lovely spot on the water for the event and then this landlocked Albertan got to enjoy the ferry ride over to San Francisco on Monday on a bright sunny day. I have updated the events page for next year, I believe there is just one more to post - the event for Dyeing to Stitch in Virginia Beach in the fall. I am so pleased to be going to some great places next year. I am thrilled to say that I am coming to Minnesota, it was a very event filled time to go there in 2004 and I will never forget it. Suffice it to say that it was a grand border event in Homeland Security style!

I am madly or actually in a big muddle trying to get my projects done for next year, Nashville is mostly done..... not quite.... but getting there and then all the new projects for the events. I have pulled out every thread, every stitch book I have and made a thorough mess. I can't seem to work on just one project, I feel pressured to do all at one time, how goofy... I wish I didn't do that. My mind twirls and goes in all different directions, so yes, I couldn't get to sleep last night, too many ideas and racing thoughts. Nevertheless, I was able to put some of those thoughts to computer and paper today, so hopefully it will go better tonight. There is a ton of snow outside and below zero, we were having such a wonderful fall, it's too bad, but it is very pretty.

Here are some pictures to enjoy. One of our wonderful stitching group at Needle In A Haystack's event and one of Cathe and I in San Fran.
