Surgery

Just a quick note before I go to bed and wake up tomorrow for surgery! As some of you know my arthritis was quite advanced and giving me grief so I am having the left knee undergo replacement surgery and I will be bionic! Now when I come to teach and go through the airport I will set off the machines! So I am unsure of how I will feel, but the girls Wilma, Kathy and VickiLynne will keep things going and look after details for me but answering emails will not happen as quickly as me doing them per usual. Hope you are having a great spring and I hope that I will be able to get out and garden soon.... we shall see...

Spring in Oregon

Just a quick not to let you know a couple of things. We shipped Crossed Caper this week - Chapter 5 in the Stitching album project. Just under the gun before leaving for the Oregon coast. If I don't answer email right away it is because I am away at an event, if I have a chance I do check email but I can't guarantee it.The pocket item is a JDD wood ruler or Kelmscott ruler, whatever you prefer. I have posted a picture of the wood ruler on the crossed caper page. In the thread pack is the lovely Gloriana Luminescence, I hope you enjoy using it, it is so soft and I love the intenseness of the colour it provides, what a delight to use in this mainly red piece! There are lots of you keeping up- great work! and lots of you more at the beginning, but nevermind, remember it is the journey of stitching that is the joy- enjoy your hours however many or few they maybe!

Renovations

I am back from teaching in Vancouver and what a lovely week. The Vancouver guild were lovely hosts and we all enjoyed some wonderful stitching and sharing times. Well renovations are on their way. I am making a bigger space for the office, it has been crowded and we were busting out of the room. Now that my daughters have both been in bedrooms in the basement for the past few years, I have fully taken over both bedrooms on the main floor and we will make one big 'real' office space. I am so looking forward to that. At the moment I am in the living room! The rooms are gutted and we will make shelving etc. so I should be more organized when we are done! For any of you that did not want to put your initials on every page of My Stitching Album --I am posting an alternative for that row on the 4 that have been released already and Crossed Caper which is coming soon..... my stitcher has stitched the initial row with motifs from the pattern just arranged to fill in where the initials were. The colour pictures will help you and you can choose to do this if you like.

I hear many of you were stuck on Mosaic but were delighted to go on to Milanese and Scotch which went much faster. For sure Mosaic was such a tiny stitch and took alot of stitching to cover but what great detail. Enjoy the stitches and enjoy the colour in Florentine and then Crossed Caper which will be coming up soon! They both are very dynamic in colour and it is fun to see the colour play out.
